Source: Asian Cinema in Los Angeles This Saturday, Landmark’s Rialto Theatre in Pasadena, CA will screen PRINCESS MONONOKE (Mononoke Hime, 1997) as part of their weekly “Midnight Madness at the Rialtoâ€. This animated fantasy film from Studio Ghibli was written and directed by the acclaimed Hayao Miyazaki (MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, SPIRITED AWAY). PRINCESS MONONOKE broke box office records in Japan and became the first Studio Ghibli movie to be released in the US by Walt Disney (through their Miramax division).
