The film is a period drama based on the legend of a crytid called Orang Ikan (man fish), which was first reported by Japanese soldiers in World War II stationed in the islands south of Indonesia. In the story, a Japanese soldier and a British prisoner of war are stranded on a deserted island, hunted by one of these deadly creatures.   ORANG IKAN is an international peoduction between parties in Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and the United Kingdom. The film is supported by the Singapore Film Commission (SFC).
