Bandai Namco Filmworks has provided information and images for AIKATSU! MEMORIAL STAGE ~SHINING UNIT CUP~ (アイカツ！メモリアルステージ ～輝きのユニットカップ～, Aikatsu! Memoriaru Sutēji ~ Kagayaki no Yunitto Kappu ~), a compilation of popular episodes from the AIKATSU! anime television series along with exclusive bonus footage. The movie will receive a limited 3-week run in 43 theaters across Japan starting June 20th.
Based on the enormously successful Bandai Data Carddass collectible card arcade game, the anime AIKATSU! (アイカツ!) debuted on Japanese TV broadcast October 8, 2012 and ran for three seasons through March 31, 2016. It was followed by the series AIKATSU STARS! (アイカツスターズ!, Aikatsu Sutāzu!, 2016-18), AIKATSU FRIENDS! (アイカツフレンズ!, Aikatsu Furenzu!, 2018-19), AIKATSU ON PARADE! (アイカツオンパレード!, Aikatsu on Parēdo!, 2019-20), and AIKATSU PLANET! (アイカツプラネット!, Aikatsu Puranetto!, 2021). Four feature films were released between 2014 and 2022.
AIKATSU! MEMORIAL STAGE ~SHINING UNIT CUP~ features the "Unit Cup Edition" story arc from AIKATSU! Season 3, Episodes 35-37. In addition, Episode 39: AIKATSU RESTAURANT (アイカツレストラン, Aikatsu Resutoran), a story with all the characters of Akari Ozora's Aikatsu generation gathering together for a play within a play, will be screened.
Story
It has been announced that the "Unit Cup" will be held at Starlight Academy Junior High School.
Eight units are full of motivation after being selected to participate in the Unit Cup. This time, there will be a corner unique to this event where idols will talk about each other behind the scenes.
The idols will clash more passionately than ever!? The Unit Cup begins here!
