Toei has provided information and pics for their new anime feature film, BUTT DETECTIVE THE MOVIE: FAREWELL MY BELOVED PARTNER (BUTT) (映画おしりたんてい　さらば愛しき相棒（おしり), Eiga Oshiri Tantei: Saraba Aishiki (Oshiri)). The second theatrical feature based on the widely successful Butt Detective franchise opened in Japanese cinemas on March 20th.

Based on the picture book series by author Troll, BUTT DETECTIVE THE MOVIE: FAREWELL MY BELOVED PARTNER (BUTT) continues the animated adaptation that has been airing on Japanese television since 2018. The movie features prolific voice actors Riisa Naka (Makoto Konno from THE GIRL WHO LEPT THROUGH TIME), Kenjiro Tsuda (Seto Kaiba from YU-GI-OH!), and Issei Futamata (Kinkotsuman from KINNIKUMAN) in special guest roles.

STORY

A box of chocolates arrives at Butt Detective’s office along with a message from his former partner, Suisen. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Hattan Town where she works, many paintings were replaced with forgeries. It is said that the person responsible for said forgeries is none other than Suisen's teacher, Dr. Kinmoku. Suisen is asked to uncover the conspiracy of a huge secret society that is behind the numerous forgery-swapping incidents in various places and rescue Dr. Kinmoku, who is being used by the secret society as a prisoner. There are many mysteries surrounding her words and actions, and whether she is an enemy or an ally is unclear. In the fierce battle with the secret society, Oshiri Tantei ends up sustaining a deep wound...

Butt Detective, together with his former partner, will venture into the deepest part of the secret society. The genius with an IQ of 1104 who rises to the occasion regardless of his injuries will finally choose between his partner and the truth.

The greatest mystery in the history of butts is now unraveled!
