As part of their celebration of the worldwide release of their anime series GAMERA -Rebirth-  (ガメラ リバース, Gamera Ribāsu) on Netflix, Kadokawa Corporation is taking part in Gamera-themed collaborations with popular creators. Following "Mini-Gamera" (ミニガメラ) by manga artist Penguin Box, the second project is a collaboration with the comedy manga Nights with a Cat (夜は猫といっしょ, Yoru wa Neko to Issho) by Kyuryu Z.

Nights with a Cat began as a short story that Kyuryu Z posted on his Twitter page. It quickly developed a wide readersip who had fallen for the charms of Kyuruga the cat. The manga has been collected in 5 volumes by Kadokawa (>now being published in English by Yen Press) and adapted as an anime, currently in its second season on its official YouTube channel.

For the GAMERA -Rebirth- collaboration, Kyuryu Z has created a special manga entitled Gamenya (ガメニャ) which is now available on his official X (Twiiter). In the story, Kyuruga, who has become the giant half-turtle monster "Gamenya," roams the city's streets, followed by his human friend, Fuuta. An animated version has also been produced and is now available on the official Nights with a Cat YouTube channel.

I never thought that the day would come when I would be able to draw a Gamera cat...
I am thrilled to have been allowed to draw this collaborative manga.

The idea was to have a cat carry a shell on its back and slip through the city , but I wondered if it would be able to do so with a shell on its back...
I thought about this as I drew it, and it turned out to be a soft Gamenya.
