    Australian Godzilla DVD Box Sets from Madman

    Region 4 Collections Coming this Week to Australia and New Zealand Source: Madman Entertainment On October 21st, Eastern Eye— the Asian theatrical and home video division of Australian distributor Madman Entertainment— will release three DVD collections of classic Godzilla films. The sets collect seventeen Godzilla movies that had been released individually on DVD by Madman from 2004-2007. With the exception of the new packaging, the new DVDs are identical in terms of content to the previous releases, including special features such as original Japanese theatrical trailers, photo galleries, trivia, concept art, and poster galleries. Each box set will be Region 4 and PAL format, and retail for $49.95 AUD.


    GODZILLA: 50th Anniversary Edition Special 50th Anniversary edition with the original Japanese version of the 1954 classic GODZILLA (restored and completely uncut) and the US 1956 version GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS on one disc! MOTHRA VS GODZILLA (aka GODZILLA VS THE THING, 1964) Following a powerful typhoon, a mysterious giant egg is washed up on a Japanese beach. Inside are the offspring of Mothra. When Godzilla emerges from hibernation and heads for the egg, Mothra must fight for her young and all of Japan as well. Two great Japanese monster icons fight a battle of epic proportions! GODZILLA: INVASION OF THE ASTRO-MONSTER (aka MONSTER ZERO, 1965) Strange radio waves are beamed to Earth from Planet X, a newly discovered world near Jupiter. After making contact with the aliens, the nations of the Earth agreesto assist the people of Planet X with a monster problem— King Ghidorah. Soon, the aliens turn against the Earth and launch a combined attack by Godzilla, Rodan and King Ghidorah. GODZILLA VS EBIRAH- HORROR OF THE DEEP (aka GODZILLA VS THE SEA MONSTER, 1966) When a fisherman goes missing, his brother and some friends go to sea to search for him. Caught in a storm, they are forced onto tropical Leitchi Island. The island is a secret base for the terrorist group Red Bamboo and is guarded by Ebirah— a giant lobster sea monster. Hiding in a cave in desperation, the castaways decide to awaken the slumbering Godzilla in the hope he can defeat Ebirah and help them escape!

    SON OF GODZILLA (1967) On Solgell Island in the South Pacific a group of United Nations scientists conduct weather experiments. A malfunction causes a radioactive storm which makes the local praying mantis (Kamakiras) colony to grow to over 100 feet tall. The mantis colony finds a giant egg, which contains Minilla— the Son of Godzilla. Soon Godzilla arrives to teach his son the skills to help him become a future `King of the Monsters`. SON OF GODZILLA is a fun adventure for all the family. GODZILLA: DESTROY ALL MONSTERS (1968) In the year 1999, the giant monsters of old have been safely imprisoned on Monsterland in the Ogasawara Islands. From outer space come a race of alien women called the Kilaaks who release the monsters to destroy the Earth. New York, Beijing, Moscow and Tokyo are all suddenly under attack. The only hope is that astronaut Katsuo Yamabe can reach the alien`s monster control device on the moon— before it`s too late! Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Manda, Angilas, King Ghidorah and a host of monster favorites come to life in some of the biggest battles of the Godzilla series.     GODZILLA: ALL MONSTERS ATTACK (aka GODZILLA`S REVENGE, 1969) Ichiro is a lonely boy growing up in busy Tokyo who gets pushed around by the local bully Gabara. To escape his troubles, Ichiro imagines he is on Monster Island where he befriends Minilla, the Son of Godzilla. In his daydreams he sees Godzilla fighting other monsters but soon realizes that Minilla is bullied, too. Ichiro begins to develop the guts to stand up to the bully Gabara. ALL MONSTERS ATTACK is a great lesson for the kids. GODZILLA VS HEDORAH (aka GODZILLA VS THE SMOG MONSTER, 1971) The Earth is being polluted by humans and still its inhabitants will not learn of the dangers. Spawned from the pollution is the alien monster Hedorah— the `Smog Monster` — that spews forth poisonous gas and sludge, destroying Japan. The only hope to save mankind is Godzilla... and soon a clash of the titans will rock the world. GODZILLA VS GIGAN (1972) World Children`s Land, a new Tokyo fun park with a monster theme, hides a terrifying secret. Inside the park, aliens from Nebula M Spacehunter plan to unleash the giant cyborg Gigan and the three-headed King Ghidorah to destroy an unsuspecting Earth. Only Godzilla and Angilas have any hope of stopping them in a monster tag team clash of the titans. GODZILLA VS MEGALON (1973) For a while, things have been peaceful on Earth. But far beneath the ground, the kingdom of Seatopia sends out the giant beetle Megalon and the space monster Gigan to destroy the surface dwellers. A size-shifting robot named Jet Jaguar calls on the help of Godzilla in an attempt to save Japan from complete destruction.

    GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA (1974) Strange apelike aliens hatch an evil plot to take over the Earth— building a robot Godzilla to crush all interference. Soon, the real Godzilla and Okinawa`s legendary protector King Caesar join forces in an epic struggle to save mankind. A monster from space fights the monsters of Earth in one of the best Godzilla films of the series. TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA (1975) Aliens again plan to conquer the Earth with Mechagodzilla— the giant robot armed to the teeth with lasers and missiles. Earth professor Shinji Mafune joins the aliens, controlling the sea monster Titanosaurus. With the two monsters teamed up against the solo Godzilla, things look bleak for our prehistoric anti-hero. Soon, secret agents from Interpol hatch a plan that might even the stakes. Crashes, smashes and monster mashes make this an explosive final entry in the first Godzilla series. When a trio of researchers are sent to the island, they discover twin fairies who tell them it is the egg of Mothra. As they take the egg from the island by boat, it hatches, Godzilla surfaces and the battle for Earth begins. GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA II (1993) Scientists from the United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center have built the ultimate machine, encased in a diamond skin and fueled by nuclear power— Mechagodzilla. Meanwhile, on a remote island an ancient egg is discovered. Both Godzilla and Rodan return to claim the egg as their own. A three way giant monster fight ensues to see who triumphs as the ultimate monster. GODZILLA VS SPACEGODZILLA (1994) From a black hole in outer space, a mutant alien SpaceGodzilla is created from the cells of Godzilla and Biollante. The new monster travels to Earth to do battle with Godzilla and the United Nations super-robot Mogera. Once an enemy, now Godzilla will fight to save mankind. Will Earth`s forces survive a threat from beyond the stars?

    GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH (1995) Godzilla is heating up and his nuclear energy is on the verge of exploding. While the Japanese Defense Force attempts to freeze Godzilla, another monster emerges— Destoroyah, a creature spawned from the Oxygen Destroyer. Can mankind stop these two beasts before there is a giant monster meltdown that could destroy the world?
