A SCIFI JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

Toho Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with press materials for the Japanese release of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ worldwide box office smash GODZILLA VS. KONG (ゴジラvsコング, Gojira vs Kongu). While the movie has already opened in most international markets, it does not come to Japan until Friday, May 14th.

Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures, and Toho have partnered to create the Hollywood version of the Godzilla series, which has been developed from GODZILLA (2014) into a “MonsterVerse” series that crosses over with the magnificent world view of KONG: SKULL ISLAND (2017). The third entry, GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, showed this is Godzilla! The world was enthusiastic about the powerful monster battles, and it was a smash hit.

And in 2021, the dream showdown is finally realized! The long-awaited latest installment in the series, GODZILLA VS. KONG, in which the “Destruction God” Godzilla and the “Guardian God” Kong, the two most iconic legendary monsters in movie history, collide will finally appear on Friday, May 14!

Godzilla, who awakened as “King” after a deadly battle with the mighty monsters in the previous work, will confront this time the ultimate monster Kong, who has also reigned over movie history!

Why do they fight? Who is the winner of this ultimate showdown?

STORY

The Earth was devastated by the war of Titans. As mankind tries to rebuild, the special agency Monarch embarks on a dangerous mission into an unknown land and uncover clues to the origins of the giant monsters. Meanwhile, Godzilla emerges from the darkness of the deep sea, attacks the high-tech company APEX in Florida, and puts the world in danger once again. What is the cause of Godzilla’s anger? Walter Simmons (Demián Bichir), CEO of APEX, complains about the threat of Godzilla. As a countermeasure, Monarch and Apex, led by the teams of Dr. Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgård) and Dr. Ilene (Rebecca Hall), take Kong off of Skull Island to explore where the monsters’ roots lie.

The struggle for humanity’s survival will trigger the ultimate confrontation between Godzilla and Kong, and people will see the greatest clash in history. Jia is the only girl who can communicate with Kong, who is searching for his homeland. Meanwhile, Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), her friend Josh (Julian Dennison), and Bernie (Brian Tyree Henry), who espouses conspiracy theories about APEX, believe in Godzilla and work together in pursuit of the truth. Is there any hope for humankind? What are the secret thoughts and plans of Ren Serizawa (Shun Oguri), a researcher at Apex and the son of the late Dr. Ishiro Serizawa? The speculations of the people surrounding the monsters are complicated. Godzilla and Kong, are they on the side of humanity or a threat to humanity? 【ストーリー】
