(Headquarters: Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture / President: Yasumasa Akatsuka) is a general food company whose history stretches back more than 150 years with the opening of their first Gyunabe-ya ( a beef hot-pot restaurant) in 1871. In the year's since, the company has expanded to cover take-out, home cooking, dressed meats, delicatessens, Japanese confectionery, processed foods, and traditional-style restaurants that have become known for their popular shigure (beef and other foods boiled and simmered in soy sauce) dishes.

Kakiyasu Honten's signature product, the "Low-Sodium Beef Shigure," which is the most popular among its Ryotei Shigureni products, is cooked using the traditional "Ukikashi Nimono" method of Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, where the company's headquarters is located. Cooking the meat in a rich sauce gives it a fluffy texture. The uniquely blended sauce is low in salt, yet has a robust and satisfying flavor. In addition, the "Boiled Beef and Burdock Root Shigureni" is cooked with burdock, which goes well with beef to create a flavorful dish that can be used not only as an accompaniment to rice and alcohol, but also as an arranged dish.

Finally, the "Scallop Usudaki" is made from scallops produced in Aomori Prefecture and seasoned very simply to bring out the flavor of the ingredients. By cooking the scallops with steam instead of direct heat, they remain soft and fresh. The more you chew them, the deeper the flavor develops.

Kakiyasu hopes Godzilla fans will take this opportunity to try ts Ryotei Shigureni which are made by craftsmen with the utmost care and attention.
