Kumesen Sake Brewery Co. (Head Office: 155 Nakaima, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture; President: Yoichi Higa) is now selling "Godzilla Whiskey OKINAWA BLUE," a collaboration with Godzilla, the king of monsters who has been a representative of special effects movies for nearly 70 years, on the Kumesen Shuzo website.

The theme of this collaboration product is GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ, Gojira Tai Mekagojira), which was made in 1974 as the 20th anniversary movie of the Godzilla series and set on the main island of Okinawa. The packaging for each of the film's three monsters has been created in the same nostalgic retro design as when the movie was first released, and the packaging featuring King Caesar, who appears as the "guardian god of Okinawa," is a unique Okinawan collaboration that is not to be missed.

"Godzilla Whiskey OKINAWA BLUE" is based on the rice whiskey "Okinawa Island Blue" produced by Kumesen, with further improvements in taste and aroma, and is finished in an original Godzilla package. The original whiskey is made from rice is stored and aged in new white oak barrels. It has a mellow mouthfeel, a gorgeous sweet aroma like honey, a refreshing sweetness derived from rice, and a strong, yet satisfying flavor that is unique to the subtropical climate of Okinawa.

    ◆Tasting Notes

"Godzilla Whiskey OKINAWA BLUE" has a tropical texture with hints of vanilla and mango from the oak. There is an elegant and gorgeous aroma that only new white oak can give. It also has a freshness like apple fruit wine. As soon as it enters the mouth, it has a soft attack despite its 45% alcohol content. Next, the sweetness of honey and woody bitterness spreads. Finally, a mild sweetness derived from the rice follows. It has a dry aftertaste and is best served with a highball with carbonated water.
