    Toho Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with press notes and high-res images from the original feature animation RIDE YOUR WAVE (??????????, Kimi to Nami ni Noretara) from acclaimed director Masaaki Yuasa.

    In 2017, Yuasa won the Annecy International Animated Film Festival Crystal Prize for LU OVER THE WALL (???????????, Yoake Tsugeru Ruu no Uta, 2017). He then directed the Japan Academy Award Best Animation Award winning film THE NIGHT IS SHORT, WALK ON GIRL (?????????, Yoru wa Mijikashi Aruke yo Otome, 2017). Last year he directed the Netflix anime series DEVILMAN Crybaby. He now returns with a coming-of-age love story depicting the romance between a young firefighter and a female university student. STORY Upon entering university, Hinako moves to a coastal town. She loves surfing, and when she`s on the waves she`s fearless, but still feels uncertain about her future. When a fire wreaks havoc in the town, Hinako encounters a young firefighter named Minato. As they surf and spend more time together, Hinako feels drawn to Minato, who devotes himself to helping other people. Hinako also holds a special place in Minato`s heart. However, a disaster out on the sea shocks Hinako, driving her away from the ocean she loved...
