Wonder of Wild Series: Coelacanth Polystone Painted /Wonder of wild series ???????? ????????????? Product Size: Height Approximately 18cm (7 Inches), Length Approximately 30cm (11.8 Inches) Material: Polystone Specifications: Painted; Some Assembly Required Package: Blind Box Shipping: Late June - Early July, 2016 Price: ¥19,980 (Approximately $183.04 US, Tax Included) While not a giant monster figure, X-Plus` coelacanth statue may have crossover appeal for fans of prehistoric creatures. Believed extinct for more than 65 million years, the "living fossil" made headlines worldwide when a live coelacanth was caught off the coast of South Africa in 1938. Sculpted by Sean Cooper of Paleocraft, this resin statue was first sold exclusively at the 2013 Winter Wonder Festival in Tokyo. X-Plus is now offering the coelacanth as part of their new "Wonder of Wild Series" depicting amazing animals from across the Earth. Production and painting of the statue was supervised by Kaibutsuya studio (Gigantic Series Godzilla). The eyes of the coelacanth use phosphorescent material in order to replicate the glow-in-the-dark eyes shown in photos of the ancient fish.
