SciFi JAPAN TV #07: 1970's Godzilla FX Director PART II 第7話「70年代のゴジラの特技監督〜第2部」

    A SCIFI JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

In honor of Godzilla FX director Teruyoshi Nakano's 77th birthday in October this year, a special two-day event including a film screening of GHIDORAH, THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER was held in a small theater in Kanagawa Prefecture, with Mr. Nakano himself in attendance.

During the event, SciFi JAPAN TV was given the great privilege to sit down with the director to discuss his life and career before the audience.

Mr. Nakano, who is perhaps best remembered for helming the FX on the Godzilla series through the turmoil years of the 1970s, first served as an assistant director at Toho under Eiji Tsuburaya. Today we present the conclusion to this two-part special. If you haven't seen it yet, please click here to check out part one!

Be sure to come back on December 18th for our final episode of the year, which features Godzilla comic book artist Matt Frank on his recent trip to Tokyo. After the holidays, SciFi JAPAN TV will return full-force with two episodes per month in 2013, beginning the new year with a trip to Monsters Inc studios and a discussion with Millennium Godzilla suit maker Shinichi Wakasa and actor Tsutomu Kitagawa!

    About Gaijin Channel

Filmmaker JR Lipartito and SciFi Japan writer Jim M. Ballard make up creative duo behind Gajin Channel. Both have worked on television and corporate/client works but found that to be quite uninspiring nor even much challenge. So they left that world and joined a young multimedia company called ACTV, with high hopes of making a living doing nothing but creating cool web videos and mobile apps!
