    Source: Sideshow Collectibles press release Shinjiro Hayata, the hero of the SF comic Ultraman (??????, Urutoraman), is recreated as a highly detailed 1/6 scale statue, capturing the crisp metallic detail of his iconic suit. The sculpt features both the color timer on the chest and eyes glowing with LED. The arms are interchangeable with the Spacium Blade. The Ultraman head is also interchangeable with the Shinjiro head, and the statue can be displayed unmasked, holding the mask in his left hand, which creates a totally different atmosphere. Ltd., in Los Angeles Federal Court, at 11:30 am Monday, November 20, 2017, the eight jurors delivered a unanimous verdict in favor of Tsuburaya Productions. The jury determined the controversial 1976 "Agreement" (granting licensing rights for Ultraman material to Thai businessman Sompote Saengduenchai and Chaiyo Productions) to be "not authentic." The jurors indicated they thought the document was "...not actually signed by Norobu Tsubaraya." After the case was declared closed by Judge André Birotte Jr., jurors were thanked by Judge Birotte and the lawyers for both sides. Some of the jurors explained to the lawyers what evidence and testimony influenced their decision. This latest installment of the ongoing legal battle between UM Corporation (“UMC”) and Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. (“TPC”) began in Los Angeles

    On August 7, 2017, the news came out that Haruo Nakajima, beloved Godzilla and Kaiju suit actor and a pioneer of the art, had passed away. Word spread through fandom quickly via social media and the outpouring a affection, grief and shock was amazing and heartfelt. At SciFi Japan, we felt a fitting tribute needed to be done and it was something that should not be rushed or thrown together. Over the last month we have been talking to people who worked closely with Mr. Nakajima to bring him to the US and around the world, to meet his fans and share his stories of the golden years of suit acting in Japanese films. We start off with an overview of his life and career, written by author Ed Godziszewski, followed by remembrances from a variety of colleagues that traveled with him over the last few years.
