Famed film director Ryuhei Kitamura will make a rare appearance at Stan Lee’s Comikaze on October 31, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. An autograph session from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm will take place, followed by a spotlight panel at 5:00 pm, moderated by Jessica Tseang and Chris Eaton of The Kaiju Kingdom Podcast. Mr. Kitamura rose to fame with his breakout Yakuza vs. Zombies movie VERSUS, which propelled him to a highly sought-after director. His reputation won him the helm of GODZILLA: FINAL WARS, Toho’s 50th anniversary film of the iconic movie monster. Other popular franchises in which Kitamura has taken the director’s chair are ALIVE, AZUMI, LUPIN III, and the live action scenes for the hit video game METAL GEAR SOLID: THE TWIN SNAKES. In 2008, he directed the cinematic adaptation of Clive Barker’s THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, starring Bradley Cooper. VESSELS, a supernatural film focusing on the Queen Mary, will begin filming in Long Beach, CA this early 2016.
