NOT QUITE DEAD YET is the feature film directorial debut of Shinji Hamasaki. The film is written by Yoshimitsu Sawamoto, a producer, director and writer known for popular national advertising campaigns including SoftBank`s “Shirato Family” and KDDI`s “Au no Santaro” commercial series. Suzu Hirose (OUR LITTLE SISTER, YOUR LIE IN APRIL, CHIHAYAFURU film series) tries her hand at comedy for the first time. Her father is played by Shinichi Tsutsumi (ALWAYS- SUNSET ON THIRD STREET- series, THE MOLE SONG, THE 47 RONIN IN DEBT), while Ryo Yoshizawa (KAMEN RIDER FOURZE THE MOVIE, KAMEN RIDER X KAMEN RIDER WIZARD & FOURZE: MOVIE WARS ULTIMATUM, MARMALADE BOY) portrays a helpful employee of the father`s pharmaceutical company. NOT QUITE DEAD YET is scheduled to open in Japanese cinemas on March 20th. STORY College student Nanase (Suzu Hirose), lead singer for an unsigned death metal band, can`t stand her father Hakaru (Shinichi Tsutsumi), who is the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. Rebelling against argumentative and overly logical ways, she screams "Just die!" at him during one of her performances. One day, she receives the news that her father was really dead. Actually, he has taken an experimental drug invented by his company that “kills you for only two days.” For that time he sort of becomes...a ghost! However, a rival company plots to have his boday cremated...! Faced with this dire situation, Nanase frantically tries to rescue her father with the help of his subordinate, Matsuoka (Ryo Yoshizawa), a minor employee at her dad`s company. Can Nanase safely resurrect her father before its too late?
