On September 12th, DADAGRAM (ダダグラム, Dadaguramu), a Shimokitazawa-based costume design company (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo), launched its new apparel brand "MONSTROUSA" (モンストローサ, Monsutorōsa) with an original collection commemorating the 55th anniversary of Ultraseven.

Actor and costume designer Kaishi Iwao (THE NAKED DIRECTOR, TRILLION GAME) is supervising the design and production of the Ultraseven line. While there are countless apparel brands in the world, an apparel brand handled by a costume shop is truly rare. Costume makers do not make clothes for an unspecified "someone," but rather tailor them for each and every person who will wear them. With the MONSTROUSA brand, the design team will make clothes that bring out the individuality of each person who wears them through the meticulous attention to detail that can only be achieved by the craftsmanship of a costume shop.

In creating the Ultraseven apparel, Iwao wanted to collaborate with a number of artists who match the brand's world view. Together with up-and-coming artists KANA SUZUKI, JUNK-R, Etsuko Yagi, Generation Yoshimura, Masato Adachi, Yoshimasa Sato, and SHISHUMANIA (Takuma Fukumori), he has created a number of gorgeous items Including hand-embroidered works.

Actor Tokio Emoto (Wim Wenders' PERFECT DAYS), actress Honami Sato (ALICE IN BORDERLAND Season 2), MONSTROUSA designer Umi Iwao, and SHISHUMANIA were models for a photo shoot promoting MONSTROUSA's Ultraseven line.

■ “Improvised LIVE Apparel feat.SHISHUMANIA”

MONSTROUSA will hold a 3-day sales event starting September 29th. Visitors will be able to enjoy live screen printing by Kaiji Iwao and live embroidery by SHISHUMANIA, who is also known for her collaboration with Adidas.

In addition, the "Special Collaboration Embroidery Jacket" created by SHISHUMANIA and other one-of-a-kind "Anti-Factory Series" will also be available or purchase at the event.
