A SCIFI JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

The Japanese collectibles company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and 100 daikaiju-sized photos of their giant monster and anime figures scheduled for release in October 2018. The company`s official Shonen-Ric as X-Plus website offers Exclusives and Limited Editions (with bonus features or extra pieces not available from other retailers) with shipping on some items now available to customers in North America, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan. The standard "General Distribution" versions of the figures are sold by stores and online retailers, including SFJ sponsor Anime Jungle. Most X-Plus figures are recommended for fans and collectors ages 15 years and older.

Introduced in ACE Episode 47: CURSE OF THE SALAMANDER! (???????, Sanshoouo no Noroi!), Hanzagiran was a limestone cave salamander that transformed into a Super-Beast after absorbing sunlight. Its body proved impervious to attack from Ultraman Ace and the defense team TAC (Terrible Monster Attacking Crew), and it was only stopped when Ace used his Ace Barrier to block the sun`s rays. Hanzagiran reverted back to a salamander and was returned to its home. Hanzagiran was one of the kaiju whose spirits created the ULTRAMAN TARO (??????T(???), Urutoraman Taroo, 1973-1974) monster, Tyrant. Shonen-Ric and the Godzilla Store are offering a Limited Edition version of Varan that comes with an exclusive Baradagi Mountain God statue. This bonus piece uses Atsushi Asai`s mold for the "Baradagi Shrine" kit, which was originally produced in 1999 to promote the launch of the Kaiju Freaks kit series. Asai has noted that parts of the statue -- including the back, right side of the face, and top of the head -- were not clearly shown in reference photos from the movie and were left to the sculptor`s imagination.
