    X-Plus Giant Monster Figure Lineup for December 2015

    The Japanese toy company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and high-res photos of their giant monster figures scheduled for release in late December 2015. X-Plus` monster figures can be purchased directly from the company`s official Shounen Ric website. Shounen Ric offers Limited Editions of the figures with exclusive features or bonus pieces not available from other retailers. The standard versions of the figures are sold by stores and online retailers including SFJ`s sponsors Anime Jungle and Flossie`s Gifts & Collectibles.

    Large Monsters Series: Guesra -- Shounen Ric Exclusive /??????? ????? ????????? Product Size: Height Approximately 22cm (8.7 Inches) Material: PVC (Soft Vinyl) Specifications: Painted Package: Window Box Shipping: Late December 2015 - Early January 2016 Price: ¥15,540 (Approximately $128.78 US, Tax Included) With December`s release of Guesra, X-Plus will have produced figures of all the monsters from the original ULTRAMAN (??????, Urutoraman, 1966-67) television series. Introduced in ULTRAMAN Episode 6: THE COAST GUARD COMMAND (??????, Engan Keibi Meirei), the monster was reintroduced as "King Guesra" in the movie SUPERIOR 8 ULTRAMAN BROTHERS (????????????, Daikessen! Chou Urutora Hachi Kyoudai, 2008). Guesra is sculpted in scale with the Ultraman A-type figure, also available from X-Plus in December.     Large Monsters Series: Ultraman A-type Fighting Pose Light Up Version -- Shounen Ric Exclusive /??????? ???????A??? ?????????? ???? ????????? Product Size: Height Approximately 23cm (9 Inches) Material: PVC (Vinyl) Specifications: Painted Package: Window Box Shipping: Late December 2015 - Early January 2016 Price: ¥12,960 (Approximately $107.40 US, Tax Included) X-Plus is reissuing their Ultraman A-type sculpt, capturing the features of the hero’s mask and suit from the earliest episodes of the ULTRAMAN television series. Previously released as a standard figure in December 2010, Ultraman comes with a display stand that illuminates the figure’s eyes and color timer. There is also a switch operation that changes the color timer from blue to blinking red. Ultraman is sculpted in a fighting position, bent at the waist with hands raised.     Large Monsters Series: Grandking (Silver Ver.) -- Shounen Ric Exclusive /??????? ?????????????Ver.?? ????????? Product Size: Height Approximately 36cm (14.2 Inches), Length Approximately 43cm (17 Inches) Material: PVC (Soft Vinyl) Specifications: Painted Package: Blind Box Shipping: Late December 2015 - Early January 2016 Price: ¥21,924 (Approximately $181.69 US, Tax Included) Introduced in the movie ULTRAMAN STORY (????????, Urutoraman Sutori, 1984), Grandking is a massive, mechanical super-beast created from the souls of six monsters defeated by the Ultra Brothers. X-Plus initially released Grandking for their Large Monsters Series in July 2014. The figure was painted with red and brown tones reflecting the lighting of the planet where the monster battled the Ultramen. This new release has a silver paint scheme closer to the actual Grandking suit. The silver Grandking will not have the light-up gimmick feature in the Shounen Ric website Limited Edition from 2014.     Real Master Collection PLUS: Mechagodzilla 2 -- Shounen Ric Limited Edition /RMC Plus ??????2? ????????? First released as a Toho Large Monster Series soft vinyl figure in March 2013, the Real Master Collection PLUS: Mechagodzilla 2 is constructed of poly resin to allow a higher degree of surface detail than is possible with vinyl. The statue`s chest hatch can be opened and the head removed to reveal the cyborg`s electronic brain. Mechagodzilla 2 also features built-in LEDs for the eyes and chest, and comes with a display stand containing the control switch for the lights. Both Baragon and Varan are new sculpts, different from previous X-Plus figures of the monsters. Varan is sculpted at a smaller scale to replicate the small "flying pose" puppet of the monster used in DESTROY ALL MONSTERS. The figure ccomes wit a display stand resembling boulders from the Mt. Fuji sequence from the movie. The DESTROY ALL Completion Set Vol. 2 is sold exclusively online by Shounen Ric and will not be available from retail stores.
