    After a 12 year hiatus, THE RING is revived in America with the new movie, RINGS. Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (BEFORE THE FALL), the film stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe (THE 5TH WAVE), Johnny Galecki (BIG BANG THEORY), Aimee Teegarden (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, SCREAM 4), Bonnie Morgan (THE RING TWO) and Vincent D’Onofrio (FULL METAL JACKET, JURASSIC WORLD, DAREDEVIL). RINGS is the third feature-length entry in the American series based on the Japanese horror franchise that began with Koji Suzuki’s novel Ring (???, Ringu, 1991) and gained international acclaim with Hideo Nakata`s (DARK WATER, L: change the worLd) film adaptation THE RING (???, Ringu, 1998). The Japanese series also took a long break before returning to cinemas with SADAKO 3D (????) in 2012. Last year saw the release of the RING/JU-ON J-Horror crossover, SADAKO VS KAYAKO (??vs???, 2016). Originally announced for a November 13, 2015 release, RINGS was rescheduled for April 1, 2016 and then October 28, 2016. The film is now set to open on February 3, 2017. Synopsis A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before...
