In 2014, Shochiku released the samurai comedy SAMURAI HUSTLE (????????, Chokousoku! Sankin Kotai) -- aka MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: SAMURAI -- starring Kuranosuke Sasaki (20TH CENTURY BOYS trilogy, SOLOMON`S PERJURY, THE INERASABLE) and Kyoko Fukada (SECOND VIRGINITY, WILD 7, ROOMMATE). Directed by Katsuhide Motoki (the KITARO movie series, BATTLE LEAGUE HORUMO), the film followed the misadventures of Masaatsu Naito (Sasaki), the head of a small and poor clan who is ordered by the shogun to come to the capital city, Edo, with his entire staff. The samurai had to complete the 8 day journey in just 4 days or his clan`s land would be taken away. SAMURAI HUSTLE was a critical and commercial success so the cast and crew have reunited for a sequel, tentatively titled SAMURAI HUSTLE RETURNS (??????????????, Chokousoku! Sankin Kotai Ritaanzu). What will be their next mission impossible?! STORY Masaatsu has completed "Sankin-Kotai" -- the system under which feudal lords were required to spend every other year in residence in Edo -- and his staff prepares to return home to Yunagaya. But in his absence, the opposing clan leaders have planned another conspiracy against him, with his old foe Terusada Matsudaira (Renji Ishibashi) taking over his castle. Now Masaatsu has to race back twice as fast in order to save the day. But, without his castle, how will be able to protect his people? Prepare for another whirlwind of laughter in Japan!
