Kenichi Matsuyama (DEATH NOTE and GANTZ film series) stars in the adventure comedy CHIN-YU-KI: THE JOURNEY TO THE WEST WITH FARTS (???, Chinyuuki). The movie was released in Japan in February 2016 and is now being offered to international distributors by Hakuhodo DY music & pictures Inc. The film is based on Gataro Man`s manga series Chinyuki ~ Taro to Yukaina Nakama Tachi (????????????????, Chin`yuuki ~ Taroo to Yukaina Nakama-tachi), serialized in Shueisha`s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1990-1992. A parody of the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, the manga follows the wacky (and gross) adventures of the monk Genzo and his traveling companion Taro Yamada, a former assassin known for pooping on the graves of his victims. CHIN-YU-KI: THE JOURNEY TO THE WEST WITH FARTS was directed by Yudai Yamaguchi (BATTLEFIELD BASEBALL, DEADBALL) and stars Matsuyama as Taro and Kana Kurashina (THE EXTREME SUKIYAKI) as Gendo. The supporting cast includes Ryosei Tayama (SADAKO 3D), Takashi Sasano (THERMAE ROMAE), Yoichi Nukumizu (SABUIBO MASK) and Pierre Taki (GODZILLA REURGENCE). STORY Genzo (Kana Kurashina), a monk, is on his way to Tianzhu (India). He happens to stop by at a house and meets an old couple who ask him to rehabilitate an invincibly delinquent boy, Taro Yamada (Kenichi Matsuyama). Genzo seals off Taro`s strong magical power, and reluctantly agrees to take him in and travels to Tianzhu together as ill luck would have it. Would the pair be able to reach Tianzhu, or would they not?
