A City Doomed. From Hideaki Anno, the mind behind EVANGELION. The King of Monsters receives a terrifying resurgence. It`s a peaceful day in Japan when a strange fountain of water erupts in the bay, causing panic to spread among government officials. At first, they suspect only volcanic activity, but one young executive dares to wonder if it may be something different -- something alive. His worst nightmare comes to life when a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and begins tearing through the city, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. As the government scrambles to save the citizens, a rag-tag team of volunteers cuts through a web of red tape to uncover the monster`s weakness and its mysterious ties to a foreign superpower. But time is not on their side, and the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the world is about to evolve right before their very eyes... Last month, North American distributor Funimation Entertainment and Australian distributor Madman Entertainment announced they would be releasing Toho`s SHIN GODZILLA (??????, Shin Gojira, 2016) on home video in their respective territories. Both companies have now provided SciFi Japan with additional details as well as large, high-res packaging artwork for the various upcoming editions of the film. Co-directed by EVANGELION creator, Hideaki Anno and special effects maestro, Shinji Higuchi (GAMERA Trilogy, ATTACK ON TITAN live-action movies), SHIN GODZILLA was a massive commercial and critical hit in Japan, earning more than $72 million (USD) at the Japan box office and also sweeping the 2017 Japan Academy awards ceremony, with prizes including Best Picture and Best Director.

Funimation -- North America Funimation will release SHIN GODZILLA on both Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack (with the US edition including a digital copy not available in Canada) and DVD. The home entertainment editions will also include the Japanese audio track, along with a new English dub produced by Funimation, making it the first Toho Godzilla movie to be dubbed in America since the Sony Pictures release of GODZILLA 2000 seventeen years ago. A multi-region player is needed to view the discs outside their distribution territory.
