GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan) will be released in theaters across Japan on November 3. Directed, written, and VFX by Takashi Yamazaki, it is one of the most talked-about films of the year, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the world-famous King of the Monsters and the 30th live-action Godzilla film produced in Japan. It will be released in more than 500 theaters nationwide, the largest number among Toho's films, and will be screened overseas, mainly in North America.

The scenes where Godzilla confronts humans at sea  were filmed in places such as the Enshu Sea off the coast of the Tenryu River and within Lake Hamana. The Lake Hamana area is also home to Boat Race Hamanako (3727-7 Nakanogo, Arai-cho, Kosai City Shizuoka Prefecture), which will also celebrate its 70th anniversary this year. Therefore, Boat Race Hamanako will collaborate with GODZILLA MINUS ONE during the "Shizuoka Prefecture Governor's Cup Contest GI Hamanako Prize 70th Anniversary" (静岡県知事杯争奪戦GⅠ浜名湖賞開設70 周年記念, Shizuoka Kenchijihai Sōdatsusen Jī Hamanakoshō Kaisetsu 70 Shūnen Kinen) race that opens on Thursday, January 25 and runs through Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

There will be various GODZILLA MINUS ONE/Boat Race Hamanako promotions conducted in the lead-up to the G1 Hamanako Prize, starting with a special commercial in mid-October and including live events on Saturday, December 9 and Sunday, December 10, 2003.  Further details will be revealed in the weeks to come.
