    Godzilla, who will celebrate his 70th anniversary in 2024, and Kwansei Gakuin University, which will celebrate its 135th anniversary, are teaming up for the first collaboration between the King of the Monsters and an university. The two will collaborate on a variety of projects during the university's New Moon Festival 2023 (新月祭2023,  Shingetsusai 2023), including the creation of visuals that reflect the long histories of both Godzilla and Kwansei Gakuin University and the challenges they share in extending beyond Japan to the world stage.

    ■ Collaboration Visuals

    Three types of collaboration visuals have been unveiled, promoting the latest movie GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan) with the Nishinomiya-Uegahara Campus, the Tokyo Marunouchi Campus, and the New Moon Festival 2023. These images will be displayed on large panels during the Festival, and featured on limited edition novelties distributed at the event.

     

    ■ Godzilla & Kwansei Gakuin University Special Diorama

    On Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5, a special diorama depicting Godzilla and the Kwansei Gakuin University campus building on the same scale will be exhibited in the central auditorium of the Nishinomiya-Uegahara Campus.

     

    ■ Godzilla Photo Rally

    Attendees can participate in the photo rally by visiting the Godzilla panels set up in the venue of the New Moon Festival 2023. Participants will receive a Godzilla/Kwansei Gakuin University collaboration sticker and be entered in a lottery to win a clear file. Clear file winners who also post their rally photos to social media will receive an acrylic key ring.

     

    ■ Chibi Godzilla Greeting Event!

    Chibi Godzilla will come to three campuses of Kwansei Gakuin University -- the Kobe Sanda Campus, Nishinomiya-Uegahara Campus and Nishinomiya Seiwa Campus! Also, Chibi Godzilla sun visors will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.

     

    Tokyo Marunouchi Campus 15th Anniversary Event

    Kwansei Gakuin University's Tokyo Marunouchi Campus will host a special screening and talk show to commemorate the release of GODZILLA MINUS ONE and the 15th anniversary of the campus.

    After a screening of the first Godzilla film, the cultural significance of Godzilla and its roots will be examined through a live seminar moderated by Professor Yukimitsu Tsukada, Kwansei Gakuin University.  Seats are limited, so be sure to register early.
