Source: Tsuburaya Productions On November 20, 2017, SciFi Japan broke the news that a jury in Los Angeles Federal Court had ruled in favor of Tsuburaya Productions in their dispute with UM Corporation over the international rights to Ultraman. On January 15, 2018, UMC and their co-defendants Golden Media Group, Inc. and TIGA Entertainment Company, Ltd. filed a Motion for New Trial. The court denied their motion on March 28 and, on April 18, Judge Andre Birotte Jr. ordered and adjudged the jury`s verdict. He declared that UMC, TIGA, GMG, and Ultraman USA are prohibited from engaging in or authorizing any copying, reproduction, preparation of derivative works, distribution, sale or other transfer of ownership, rental, lease, lending or public performance of any audio-visual or other creative works or products based on Ultraman characters or stories in the United States.
