Today it was revealed that Daisuke Ban has been signed for the movie. Ban is best known as the star of the popular Toei superhero series KIKAIDA (人造人間キカイダー, Jinzō Ningen Kikaidā, 1972-73) and INAZUMAN (イナズマン, 1973-74) and has appeared in numerous tokusatsu shows and movies. He also played Sadako's father in the the internationally acclaimed J-Horror hit THE RING (リング, Ringu, 1998)

Regarding the Release Date of SHIN ULTRAMAN First, we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to everyone who has suffered from the ongoing effects of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. We would also like to express our gratitude and respect for all of the healthcare and essential workers who even now are responding to the situation.  Due to delays in the production schedule caused by COVID-19, we will not be releasing SHIN ULTRAMAN in theaters in the early summer of 2021 as planned and will instead formulate a new release schedule.
