Kobayashi appeared in several Toho films in the late 1960s-early 1970s, and is known to kaiju/tokusastu fans for playing the female lead character Kyoko Manabe in DESTROY ALL MONSTERS (????? Kaij? The latest addition is Yoshiro Uchida, a former child actor who became world famous for the leading role of Toshio Sakurai in Daiei Studios’ original GAMERA (??????, Daikaij? Gamera, 1965). His character retained his Japanese name in GAMMERA THE INVINCIBLE, the 1966 Americanized version distributed theatrically by World Entertainment Corp., but was notoriously renamed "Kenny" in the English dubbed version released to home video and television by Sandy Frank in 1985. "Kenny" remains a label used to describe child actors in kaiju cinema to this day. While Uchida was not the first child actors given a prominent role in a giant monster movie, he did inspire a slew of

Although primarily focused on comic books since its beginnings in 1970, SDCC has in recent years become an enormous entertainment industry trade show where the biggest names in entertainment go to interact with fans. In recent years, multiple conventions all over the country have adapted the name Comic-Con in the hope of attracting more visitors. From 2010 to 2014, the Godzilla series has had a presence at SDCC due to the movie GODZILLA that was produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures and released in 2014. The biggest presence of Godzilla in the lead-up to the release of the first movie was in 2013 with a Godzilla museum and Virtual Reality experience hosted by Legendary Pictures.
