    Central Park Nagoya Hosts GODZILLA MINUS ONE "Godzilla Street" Event

    Located in Nagoya near the base of the Nagoya TV Tower, Central Park is a seimi-underground complex with shopping, ining and entertainment venues.  Starting this coming Thursday,  November 2, Central Park is hosting "Godzilla Street" (ゴジラストリート, Gojira Sutorīto) as a promotional tie-in for the release of the new movie, GODZILLA MINUS ONE (ゴジラ-1.0/ゴジラマイナスワン, Gojira Mainasu Wan). The event will feature interactive photo projects to give fans a "Godzilla Experience" that is not to be missed.

    ● "Life-Sized Godzilla's Eyes" (等身大のゴジラの眼, Tōshindai no Gojira no Me)

    A 5.5-meter wide x 2.4-meter high  (18 x 8 foot) art piece will be installed,  making It appear that Godzilla is destroying the walls of Central Park. When a visitor stands in front of the "Godzilla's Eyes" to take a photo, the monster's eyes glow angrily and his roar will also be heard.

    From a very limited time (Thursday, November 2 - Saturday, November 4) Godzilla will also blow out his white breath, allowing visitors to feel as if a living Godzilla is  right there before them.

     

    ● "Flash Godzilla!" (ゴジラの姿をフラッシュ!,  Gojira no Sugata o Furasshiyu!)

    By taking flash photography of the pictures of Godzilla that are already on display, a powerful new image of Godzilla will be revealed.

    ● "Godzilla in Ink Painting/Live Painting" (墨絵のゴジラ/ライブペインティング, Sumi-e no Gojira/Raibu Peintingu)

    Godzilla will be painted on a large canvas during a live performance by Sumi-e artist, Okazu (オカズ). The completed ink painting will be exhibited at Central Park during the event period.

    ● Godzilla Store Central Park Sub-Branch (ゴジラ・ストア セントラルパーク出張所, Gojira Sutoa Sentoraru Pāku Shucchōsho)

    The Godzilla Store Central Park Sub-Branch will be open and selling Godzilla goods for a limited time.

    Date: Thursday, November 2 - Wednesday, November 8, 2023 
    Hours: 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m

    ● "Godzilla Hour" (ゴジラアワー,  Gojira Awā)

    For the duration of the event, "Godzilla Hour" will kick off each day at 5:00 p.m. with the playing of the familiar Godzilla theme song. Visitors can take a photo of two of the Godzillas projects ("Life-Sized Godzilla's Eyes", "Flash Godzilla!" or "Godzilla in Ink Painting") and present it at a Central Park business to receive a "+1.0 (plus one)" prize, including discounts, drink upsizes, and free food items. 

     

     

     

     

    GODZILLA MINUS ONE, the latest movie in the Godzilla series, will be released in Japan on November 3 and open in North American cinemas on December 1, 2023. For more on information, please see the earlier coverage here on SciFi Japan...
